Residents in Carrick on Suir in Co. Tipperary are calling on Irish Rail to keep the noise down.
Apparently the semi state body has received over 100 complaints asking train drivers to stop hooting their horns.
Residents say the train driver starts to blow the horn about two miles before he reaches the town and starts to blow it again when he leaves the station until the train is about two miles outside Carrick-on-Suir.

But a spokesperson for Irish Rail says the ongoing noise is down to a mechanical fault which has now been fixed.
