The case against former government minister Michael Lowry for alleged tax offences has been adjourned at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

The 60 year old of Glenreigh in Holycross in Co Tipperary is facing four charges that he allegedly filed incorrect tax returns in 2003 and 2007.

The Independent TD - who has yet to indicate how he will plead to the charges - initially appeared before Thurles District Court last year.

Last April Judge Elizabeth MacGrath sent him forward for trial to Nenagh Circuit Court, on his own bail bond of 500 euro.

His trial was later transferred from Tipperary to Dublin on the application of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The case was briefly before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court earlier where Judge Martin Nolan adjourned the case until February 27th.

Mr Lowry is excused from attending the next court date.
