The polls are still open in Catalonia in North-Eastern Spain where people are voting in an informal ballot on independence.

There are fears that voting could be disrupted after Spain's constitution court ruled it to be unconstitutional.

Plans for a referendum on secession have also been suspended.

Voters are being asked whether they want a Catalan state and whether that state should be independent.
