A Cavan man is €350,000 richer after collecting Lotto Plus winnings. He bought his ticket in the Spar, Maxol on the Ballinagh Road in Cavan last Saturday.

He won the prize in the Lotto Plus 1 draw.

"My Mam always said if anyone was going to win the Lotto, it would be me!"said the lucky winner.

He was accompanied by a few delighted family members, who had a glass of champagne to celebrate the special occasion.

He played two lines with Plus - he picked his own numbers for one line and for the other line he played Quick Pick.

His Quick Pick numbers were drawn in the Plus draw on Saturday.

The lucky winner is not sure yet how he will spend his fortune, but there is one thing at the top of the list.

"It's a few years since I've been to Manchester to see United play, so it's time for a return. I'll be in Old Trafford for the next match" he said.

This Saturday's Lotto jackpot is an estimated €5.5 million.
