A man remains in a critical condition in hospital after an assault in Cavan town overnight.
The man (55) was injured in an incident at Stonebridge Apartments at around 3am.
He was taken to Cavan General Hospital, but later transferred to a Dublin hospital for surgery.

His condition is described as 'critical but stable'.
Two men, aged 55 and 25, and a woman (27) have been arrested for questioning. They are being held in Cavan garda station.
