The Society of St Vincent de Paul is warning of a potential money lending crisis in Ireland.
The charity is calling on the Central Bank to publish data on money lenders.
It says its members are becoming increasingly alarmed at the prevalence of these types of high interest rate loans in the communities they serve.
Brendan Hennessy is from the SVP Social Justice and Policy team.
He says it's proving difficult to build up a true picture of the scale of the problem:
