The Government is being asked to include Veterans in discussions surrounding the future of the GPO in Dublin.
The Irish Defence Forces veteran's charity ONE, which provides housing and mental health services, wants to see an established veterans centre in the iconic building.
CEO of the organisation Cormac Kirwan said they want consideration for a support bureau.
"We're really pitching for consideration, to consider potentially providing a national veterans support bureau within the GPO," he said.
"We're making the assumption that it will be a shared facility used by a number of community groups.
"We would feel that a national veteran support bureau would address what we would see as a capability gap currently in relation to support services for veterans of the Defence Forces."
The charity operates a nationwide network with 35 branches throughout the country to assist veterans.
