A young boy has died in hospital following a car crash in Carrigaline, Co Cork, over the weekend. 

Gardaí said he was cycling when the collision with a car occurred at the Ballinrea roundabout on Saturday, August 12th, at approximately 9.20am. 

The boy was brought to Cork University Hospital in critical condition before he was transferred to CHI at Temple Street. 

He died yesterday evening, Wednesday, August 17th. 

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with video or dashcam footage of the incident to contact them at contact Togher Garda station on 021 494 7120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
