An 8 year old boy has been killed in a road crash in Co. Wexford.

The child died, when he was struck by a SUV car, in the car park of Enniscorthy Rugby Club at around quarter past 7 yesterday evening.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries - and was pronounced dead last night.

The scene of the incident has been sealed off this morning - while Gardai carry out a technical examination.

Gardai in Enniscorthy are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
