A Health and Safety Authority inspector is expected at the scene of a fatal farm accident in Co. Laois today.

A 9-year-old girl died after the incident, which happened in Ballacolla last Sunday.

The child was brought to Temple St Children's hospital in Dublin, where she died yesterday.

The authority has also been notified about the death of a 14-year-old boy on a farm in Limerick.

It's understood the teenager was fatally injured just before 3 o'clock yesterday when he was electrocuted at a farm in Kilmeady.

A post mortem will be carried out on his body at University Hospital Limerick.
