However, his imminent return hasn’t slowed down the flow of his popular, enlightening and entertaining transmissions to Earth.
Today Hadfield and the Canadian Space Agency have posted up another of their informative videos, this time giving a brief tutorial on how astronauts would react to fires by using ‘quick-don masks’. Since the oxygen-supplying masks have an expiration date, they double up in function to provide the ISS with a small boost of oxygen once the best-before date has passed.
This week also saw Hadfield telling us how the ISS turns in order to point its solar panels towards the sun and keep in contact with Earth.
Hadfield also recently explained the benefits of recycling urine (and water generally) in space:
