There is a smugness to oil protestors that is 'annoying the crap out of an awful lot of people'.
That's according to Newstalk Breakfast host Ciara Kelly, who was speaking after play was stopped twice at Wimbledon in London on Wednesday due to protests.
Play on court 18 was halted after Just Stop Oil protesters invaded the grass and threw orange confetti.
There were similar disruptions earlier by two other activists who threw jigsaw pieces onto the court.
Three people from the environmental group have been arrested.
The UK Home Secretary Suella Braverman has called the disruptions "unacceptable".
"The protesters at Wimbledon were determined to ruin the day's play for spectators and sports fans across the world," she said.
"We will be uncompromisingly tough on the selfish protesters intent on spoiling our world-class sporting occasions this summer," she added.
'That's what it boils down to'
Ciara Kelly said the climate activists aren't helping their case.
"There's a smugness to this: it's like, 'We know about climate change and you luddites haven't a clue'" she said.
"We all know about climate change, we can't get away from climate change.
"We are moving towards zero emissions, we are changing our economy, we are moving our energy systems.
"We are incentivising people to move in one direction and disincentivising them to move in another direction.
"I do agree with the right to protest, but I don't want to personally be discombobulated by a bunch of people who think that they know better than everybody else.
"That's what it boils down to.
"They're saying, 'You old farts, you don't realise about the climate - we're the only ones'.
"It's so sort of self-centered.
"They are raising awareness about it, but you know what? They're annoying the crap out of an awful lot of people," she added.
