A gold post box has been unveiled near Cillian Murphy's childhood home in Cork to mark his Oscar win.
An Post has repainted its traditional green post box in Ballintemple a short distance from where the 'Oppenheimer' star grew up.
Murphy became the first Irish-born man to take the accolade on Sunday, following on from Irish citizen Daniel Day-Lewis.

Accepting the award Murphy described himself as “overwhelmed” and a “very proud Irishman”.
The Cork man has since been announced as the new face of Italian fashion label Versace, with a global campaign launching on April 3rd.
A gold post box has also popped up in Dublin city to mark the Oscar success of the Irish-produced film 'Poor Things'.
Gold post boxes have previously appeared in Cork to pay tribute to Olympic Gold medal winning rowers Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy in the 2021 Olympics.
The gold carpet, so to speak, was also previously rolled out on a post box in Dublin to mark Kellie Harrington's return with Olympic gold.
