Circle K is apologising to customers after its petrol pumps were contaminated with diesel over the weekend.

The company said it happened on Saturday afternoon at the Circle K Kill North Service Station, on the northbound lane of the N7.

The petrol pumps were delivering diesel between the hours of 2pm and 7pm and Circle K said it believes up to 87 drivers were impacted.

“All petrol pumps at this service station were impacted by an isolated incident where diesel was inadvertently delivered into a petrol underground-storage tank,” it said.

“Having reviewed CCTV and sales data, we know up to 87 customers may have been impacted by this issue.

“As soon as the issue became apparent, petrol pumps at the forecourt were immediately closed and Circle K launched an investigation to establish how this occurred.”

Circle K said the issue has since been resolved, with all pumps now operating normally once again.

The company is apologising to all impacted customers and has opened a dedicated customer hotline for customers – promising to “support them in rectifying any problems they may have with their vehicles.”

It said it aims to help customers resolve any issues “as quickly as possible” and is assuring customers that, “we will assist them with any potential claim.”
