Shane Lowry will be welcomed home to his native Clara, Co. Offaly on Tuesday evening following his success at The Open.

The 32-year-old yesterday became only the fifth Irish player in the championship's 148-year history to lift the claret jug.

Shane will return home to Clara Green with the prize at 6pm.

Lowry claimed victory by 6 shots at Royal Portrush on Sunday.

He'd missed the cut at the event for the past 4 years.
