TD Clare Daly has dismissed the warrant for her arrest as a 'distraction'.
It was issued after she failed to appear in court over a speeding ticket.
The Dublin deputy had arrived at Naas Court House, but left again after learning her case was 188th out of 188 to be heard.
She said the summons for the case appeared "out of the blue" last week, telling Newstalk's political correspondent Páraic Gallagher that the story is "a distraction" that she believes "will be sorted".
Ms Daly's solicitor told the judge his client did not mean any disrespect, but an adjournment was refused.
Judge Desmond Zaidan issued the warrant.
