Clare County Fire and Rescue Service is advising landowners to refrain from burning activities due to the increased risk of gorse and forest fires.
Firefighters from Ennis, Kilrush and Ennistymon say they responded to one of the largest wildfires of the year to date yesterday evening.
Two square kilometres of bog and gorse were scorched on Ben Dash - located between Lissycasey and Kilmaley.
Fire crews attended the scene for nearly 11 hours.
The Fire Service says the risk posed by uncontrolled burning remains high due to the dry weather conditions.
It is an offence under the Wildlife Act to burn vegetation between March 1st and August 31st.
