Former US President Bill Clinton has formally nominated current US President Barack Obama to be the Democratic Party candidate in the next Presidential election.
Clinton said he was nominating Obama for a 2nd term because he wanted a man who is “cool on the outside but burns for America on the inside”.
The televised speech by Mr. Clinton was the highlight of the 2nd day of the 3-day Democratic National Convention (DNC).
It has now formally launched Obama into what is expected to be a tight race against Republican Mitt Romney.
President Obama delighted delegates with a surprise appearance a day earlier than expected joining Mr. Clinton on stage after his speech.
Former President Clinton says America is coming back stronger and better.
