The Emergency Department at the Mater Hospital in Dublin was due to close to the public tonight for 32 hours while they moved to the new-of the-art Whitty Building.
However, the relocation of one of the busiest emergency departments in the country has now been postponed until further notice.
Management at the Mater Hospital said it did not want to impose additional pressures on other hospitals and apologised for the inconvenience and confusion they may have caused.
