A man has died following a crash in Co Clare this afternoon.
It happened on the R352 near the village of Mountshannon, with gardaí called to the scene around 2:45pm.
It's believed a car left the road and struck a ditch.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick, where a post-mortem is to be carried out.
Another man, also in his 60s, was a passenger in the car at the time.
He has been taken to UHL by ambulance, and his injuries aren't thought to be life threatening.
A forensic team is expected to examine the scene, and local diversions remain in place around the crash site.
