A search is continuing for a young man reported to have entered the water at Wexford Quay in the early hours of the morning.

The RNLI and local Coast Guard units have been conducting searches assisted by Coast Guard helicopter teams.

The Waterford based Rescue 117 chopper was replaced by the Dublin-based Rescue Chopper 116 shortly after 7.30am.

Grid searches of the entire harbour - as well as shore searches - have been conducted by Gardaí, Coast Guard and the RNLI.
