Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow weather warning for ice and low temperatures for the entire country.
The warning will come into effect at 8pm tonight and will remain in place until 10am tomorrow morning.
Met Éireann has said it will get "very cold with widespread frost and icy stretches".
There may be hazardous conditions on roads and paths as well as some travel disruption.
This week has seen the first cold snap of the season with lowest temperatures of 1 to -3C expected in places.

Meanwhile, a separate Status Yellow snow/ice weather warning for Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo came into force at 6.45am this morning and is due to remain in place until 11am.
As the cold weather sets in, the Dublin Simon Community has asked the public to help the homeless charity identify rough sleepers through the Rough Sleeper Alert app, which is available on Androids and iPhones.
The Simon Community said their Street Outreach Team will prioritise the most vulnerable during the cold spell while their Soup Run and Breakfast Run volunteers will deliver hot soup, tea and meals to those sleeping outdoors.
