The father of a murder victim has issued an emotional appeal for information 13 years on since the crime.

Ken Fetherston was a 26-year-old coach driver and a father of one from Tallaght when he disappeared in September 2009.

His body was later found in the Dublin Mountains and a post-mortem examination concluded that he had been stabbed to death.

No one has ever been charged with his murder but two years ago Gardaí opened a cold case inquiry:

“The team that are looking after this are fabulous,” Brian Fetherston told Newstalk.

“They’re doing everything possible. They’ve been on this since just before the COVID lockdown.

“We have a meeting with them every three months and yes, I am confident that something will come up and I have to hold onto that thought.”

A reward is available for information about the crime and Mr Fetherston says his family deserves justice:

“Come forward,” he pleaded.

“Let their friends prove themselves to be correct in taking a life, in dumping somebody in the mountains for nearly four months.

“And I appeal to anybody to come forward with the information.

“Crimestoppers have issued a reward and that will be stood over - no problem - if the right information is brought forward.

“And there’ll be no questions asked.”

Anyone with any information should contact their local Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
