The Health Minister is being told that he needs to get on and build the new national children’s hospital.
It comes 8 months since An Bord Pleanala turned down an application to build the facility at the Mater site in Dublin city centre.
The planning body decided it should not be built there last February and a review group was set up to look at a list of proposed sites.
The group reported back to the Minister in June.
It follows comments from the Master of the Rotunda hospital on the issue.
Dr. Sam Coulter-Smith has expressed concern that the location of the hospital is becoming a political decision rather than a medical one.
He is a consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Master of the Rotunda Hospital and a clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal College of Surgeons.
Linda Dillon is a parent’s representative on the development board of the Rotunda.
Speaking to Breakfast here on Newstalk she said the process has gone on long enough.
