MMA fighter Conor McGregor has said he will foot the bill if Katie Taylor can fight in Croke Park.
There has been controversy in recent days over the decision not to host the fight between Taylor and Puerto Rican boxer Amanda Serrano in the national stadium.
It is said that such an event would increase the security bill by €500,000.
But last night millionaire fighter McGregor took to Twitter to offer his support to make the event happen.
The extra security bill is 500k to have Katie Taylor fight at croke park? I will sponsor the event to see this happen.

"The extra security bill is 500k to have Katie Taylor fight at croke park? I will sponsor the event to see this happen", McGregor wrote.
Taylor is an Olympian, a two-weight world champion and the current undisputed lightweight champion.
In 2019, she became one of only eight boxers in history to hold all four major world titles in boxing—WBA, WBC, IBF, and WBO—simultaneously.
Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn has responded positively to McGregor's offer, tweeting last night: "Let's talk."

Mr Hearn had previously said that Croke Park would not be possible as the cost was "three times" what it would be for Wembley stadium.
Taylor beat Serrano at a sold-out Madison Square Garden last year.
If the rematch takes place in Croke Park, it will be Taylor's first time fighting on home turf as a professional.
