A jury in a civil legal action against Conor McGregor has heard that a woman suffered serious physical and psychological injuries, as a result of an alleged sexual assault by the MMA fighter.
Nikita Hand, a 35-year-old hair colourist, is suing Mr McGregor and another man, claiming they raped her in the penthouse suite of a Dublin hotel in December 2018.
After examining her in an ambulance the day after the alleged rape, Paramedic Eithne Scully described Nikita Hand as, “very withdrawn, agitated and upset.”
She noted bruising around her neck, chest, breast, buttocks and legs and said she also appeared to have a small cut on her chin.
She told the jurors she had never seen the same intensity of bruising on a patient before.
When they arrived at the hospital, she described Ms Hand as “distressed,” and just wanting to curl up and be covered by a blanket.
Ms Hand started seeing a therapist a few weeks later.
When she was examined by psychiatrist Dr Ann Leader almost one year later, she was diagnosed with severe PTSD.
In her evidence today, Dr Leader described Ms Hand as anxious, tearful and, in her opinion, somebody who was traumatised.
Mr. McGregor and the second named defendant, James Lawrence of Rafter’s Road in Drimnagh, both deny the allegations against them, claiming they had consensual sex with her.
