An Irish suicide prevention charity is expanding its services across the water  to London.

Console, which marks a decade in operation this year, says the move follows a request from authorities in the UK.

A major conference is set to take place in the capital next month, on World Suicide Prevention Day on September 7th.

Console spokesperson Ciaran Austin says the centre in London should be up and running by the end of the year.
