Quite cool and breezy today, with bright or sunny spells and scattered showers.

Some of the showers will be heavy, with a slight risk of thunder.

Maximum temperatures 15 to 18 Celsius, in mostly moderate westerly winds, but winds fresh to strong along Atlantic coasts and gusty at times.

Tonight

Early tonight, showers will become confined mainly to northern areas and most areas will be dry for a time, with clear spells.

However, later in the night outbreaks of rain and drizzle will extend from the Atlantic, affecting mainly Connacht, parts of Munster and possibly parts of south Leinster.

Minimum temperatures 7 to 11 Celsius, in mostly light to moderate westerly breezes.
