Gardaí say a section of the Malahide Road has been closed in both directions.
Motorists are being advised to use an alternative route if they're travelling in the area.
Earlier hundreds of people reportedly turned out for a protest in Coolock.
There has been increased tensions since protests earlier this week which saw violent scenes at a site which is due to house International Protection applicants.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee told Newstalk scenes there on Monday were ‘in no way legitimate protest’.
"That was not protest; it was criminal behaviour and criminal activity," she said.
"This idea that communication was the reason for it … no amount of communication would have stopped those who intentionally went to Coolock that day or who had been already there."
Minister McEntee added that she believed their "sole purpose was to sow division but also to create havoc".
