Some parts of Ireland experienced some amazing weather this Bank Holiday weekend and one Cork man took full advantage of the clear night skies.

Simon O'Shea took straight to his camera when he witnessed a stunningly clear Milky Way displayed above him in Sandycove, Castlehaven.

While the weather has all but gone to much now, these beautiful photographs of the night sky show the stars in a way not many people may have seen them before. 

Simon O'Shea posted the photographs on his tumblr page along with the caption, "The Milky Way from Sandy Cove, Castlehaven. Took advantage of the clear skies at the weekend to have a go at photographing the nights sky."
