A march is getting underway in Cork this afternoon by parents of children with special needs.
An estimated 94 children in Cork who need special education classes do not have a school place for September.
Organiser Nicole Hosford said the event will include music performances.
“We are marching from Cork City Hall and we are marching over to the Grand Parade where there will be speeches,” she said.
“A couple of TDs [are] coming along and then we’re having music.
“We’re having the Kabin Crew; they’ve only just made a new rap in regards of children with special needs and the fact that they’ve no school places.”
The protest outside City Hall will begin at half two in the afternoon.
