There have been 1,189 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Ireland today.
The five-day moving average of new cases now stands at 1,185 - a slight drop compared to yesterday.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said the number of travel-related cases has “increased very sharply” - with over 800 cases in the last two weeks.
He said it’s “strongly advised that people only travel on the basis of your vaccination/immunity”.

There were 95 COVID-19 patients in Irish hospitals this morning, including 23 in ICU.
The HSE today said two-thirds of adults are now fully vaccinated, while 80% have had at least one dose.
Earlier, Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said that case rates “mean something very different” now than they would have in previous waves.
He said the Delta wave is around ten times less serious than previous waves in terms of death and around five times less serious in terms of hospitalisations.
