There have been 21 more coronavirus-related deaths in the Republic.
Latest figures from the Department of Health Show the total number of deaths here now stands at 158.
Meanwhile, 390 new cases have been confirmed today - meaning the nationwide total has now reached 4,994.
17 of the deaths reported today happened in the east of the country, while there were two in the south and two in the west.
The patients included nine females and 12 males, and 12 patients were reported as having had underlying health conditions.
The age of today’s reported deaths is 81 - the same as the overall median of the fatalities to date.
Meanwhile, data released this evening - covering the cases reported up until midnight on Friday - show that 165 cases have been admitted to ICU.
1,163 of the confirmed cases (26%) are associated with healthcare workers, while 236 clusters involving 903 cases have been identified across the country.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said: “This past week has proven that the nation is working hard, together, by staying at home to flatten the curve.
“If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 you need to self-isolate and phone your GP."
Earlier today, officials in Northern Ireland confirmed seven more COVID-19 patients had died, bringing the death toll there to 63.
There have now been 221 deaths on the island of Ireland.
Northern Ireland's Public Health Agency said 91 people had tested positive for the virus there in the last 24 hours.
It means the total number of confirmed cases there - 1,089 - has passed over a thousand for the first time.
