There have been 270 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the Republic.

One further death has also been reported.

Today's number of new cases is the lowest reported since late September.

103 of the new cases were in Dublin, 34 in Limerick, 20 in Donegal, 12 in Cork, nine in Kerry, nine in Kilkenny and the rest spread across 20 other counties.

As of this afternoon, there were 291 COVID-19 patients being treated in Irish hospitals, including 39 in intensive care.

The national 14-day incidence rate of the virus has now fallen to 161 per 100,000 population.
