There have been 473 new cases of coronavirus in Ireland.
34 additional deaths related to COVID-19 have also been reported today - three of which occurred in April, four in March, 19 in February, five in January and three in December or earlier.
The median age of those who died was 81 years, with an age range of 33-96 years.
Of today's new cases, 229 were in Dublin, 32 in Kildare, 21 in Mayo, 19 in Meath, 30 in Donegal and the remaining 142 cases were spread across 19 other counties.
The five-day moving average of new cases now stands at 411.
There were 212 COVID-19 patients hospitalised as of this morning, including 43 in ICU.
Commenting on today's figures, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said: “Anyone exposed to COVID-19 over the Easter weekend will now be at their most infectious.
"Please isolate and contact your GP to arrange a test if you have any symptoms of COVID-19."
Four new walk-in testing centres are opening this weekend for people who don't have symptoms of the virus, as part of efforts to track down asymptomatic cases in the community.
