There have been 364 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the Republic today.
No further deaths have been reported.
Of today's cases, 42 were identified as community transmission.
100 of the cases were in Dublin, 55 in Cork, 31 in Donegal, 24 in Limerick, 23 in Galway,17 in Clare, 14 in Sligo, 13 in Roscommon, 10 in Kerry, eight in Tipperary, eight in Wicklow, seven in Kildare, six in Kilkenny, six in Offaly, five in Cavan, five in Mayo, five in Meath, with the remaining 27 cases in nine counties.
The total number of cases since the pandemic began now stands at 38,032.
Today's figures come after NPHET met this evening amid concern over the increasing COVID-19 numbers in recent days.
Any recommendations they make are expected to be considered by Government tomorrow or Tuesday.
