A further 591 coronavirus have been reported this afternoon, alongside eight more virus-related deaths.
It takes the death toll in Ireland to 4,713 and the national case total to 237,187.
Four of the deaths occurred in March and four in February.
This morning there were 264 COVID-19 patients in Irish hospitals – ten less than yesterday morning.
Meanwhile, the number in intensive care fell by one to 62.
The 14-day rate of the virus in Ireland now stands at 166.6 cases per 100,000 people.
The five-day moving average is now 533, while the seven-day incidence is 81.6
Offaly still has the highest rate in the country, where it now stands at 510,5 cases per 100,000 people.
There are seven counties with 14-day rates higher than 200.
Of the cases announced this evening, 288 were in Dublin, with 40 in Kildare, 30 in Meath, 28 in Westmeath, 27 in Laois and the remaining 178 spread across 19 other counties.
As of Tuesday, a total of 840,561 vaccine doses had been administered in Ireland.
Some 603,802 people had received their first dose, while 236,759 were fully vaccinated.
