There have been five more coronavirus-related deaths in the Republic and 1,095 new cases.
It brings the total number of cases to date to 45,253, and the number of deaths to 1,835.
Today's new cases represent the highest number reported in a single day to date.

Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan said the situation is "extremely concerning".
He said: “Today, we again report a daily new confirmed case figure over 1,000.
“We each need to reduce contact with other people as much as possible, so that means staying at home, working from home where possible, practicing physical distancing and stopping discretionary socialising.”
Figures released today show a slight decline in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Irish hospitals - down from 240 yesterday to 232 this afternoon.
30 coronavirus patients are being treated in intensive care units.
The national incidence rate of the virus now stands at 190.7 per 100,000 population.
Today's figures come as the Cabinet meets to consider whether border counties should be moved to level four, following the announcement of lockdown measures for Northern Ireland.
