Cosmonauts have installed shields on the International Space Station to protect against flying pieces of space junk.

Two Russians carried out a six and a half hour space walk to install huge panels on the side of their living quarters.

It’s hoped the new fixtures will prevent debris from dormant satellites and rockets damaging the space station.
