A divorced couple involved in running a brothel in North Dublin have avoided jail with fines and suspended sentences.

Bernadette Kiss of Moy House, Custom House Square - but originally from Hungary - and Romanian national Istvan Zeffer, with an address Whitehorn Grove in Artane pleaded guilty to organising prostitution at Burnell Square in Malahide on January 28th 2011.

Gardai happened upon the brothel while investigating suspicious comings and goings to an address in Coolock where they believed drugs were being distributed.

They raided the premises to find 2 women from Eastern Europe in an agitated state.

There is no suggestion of trafficking.
