There have been a further 3,975 PCR-confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.
While 4,478 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal on Sunday.
When the two figures are combined, the total for Monday is 8,453.
On that basis, the five-day moving average of cases is 10,675.
As of 8.00am, 643 patients were hospitalised with the virus - of whom 76 were in ICU.
While on Saturday 6,260 PCR-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported, and 4,717 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal the previous day.
And on Sunday, the HPSC was notified of 4,933 PCR-confirmed cases of COVID - and 3,803 people registered a positive antigen test through the HSE portal.
