Twenty-four new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed and one person has died.
It takes the death toll in Ireland to 1,764 and the total number of confirmed cases to 25,869.
There are currently 10 COVID-19 patients in Irish hospitals and five in intensive care.
Some 8,140 tests have been carried out in the last 24 hours.
Just over 49,500 tests were carried out in the last week – with 0.3% coming back positive.
It comes as Officials are finalising the Government’s plan for a "robust and resilient" reopening of schools next month.
The plan is expected to be published after it is presented to Cabinet on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Irishman leading research into the vaccine being developed at the University of Oxford has warned that the majority of people will not be able to access it for some time.
On Newstalk Breakfast with Eamon Torsney this morning, Dr Ray Walley, a member of the GP Expert Advisory Group on COVID-19 said Ireland has signed up to a bargaining pact with the European Commission.
He said the deal will give us the same purchasing power as any country in the bloc.
