There has been one further death related to COVID-19 and 429 new cases confirmed this afternoon by the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The number of coronavirus-related deaths has now risen to 4,873, while the latest figures bring the total amount of cases here to 246,633.
Of the latest cases, 78% are under 45 years of age, while the median age is 29 years old.
As of 8am today, 174 people are now receiving treatment in hospital for the virus after 13 new admissions in the past 24 hours.
Of those patients, 45 are in ICU, down from 46 yesterday.
The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 of the population now stands at 120.
The five-day moving average is now 468, while the seven-day incidence is 448.
As of April 23rd, 1,359,921 doses of the coronavirus vaccine have been administered in Ireland.
966,611 people have received their first dose, while a second dose has been given to 393,310 people.
Meanwhile, health officials are urging people to exercise caution as more restrictions are lifted tomorrow.
From midnight tonight, outdoor activities like golf and tennis can start again, as well as training for underage sport.
Outdoor attractions such as zoos and heritage can also reopen, while the numbers allowed at funerals increases to 25.
The Government is also going to set out a plan in the coming week for easing lockdown over the summer.
