Patients and staff are celebrating Ho Ho Day in Crumlin Children's Hospital, with special visits from Santa and Mrs Claus.

Despite the best efforts of staff, some 100 children will not be able to get home for Christmas this year.

Kyle Dowd is on a ventilator and has been in hospital for almost six months - most of his life.

His mother Michelle says the family will spend Christmas in the Ronald McDonald House on the hospital campus.
