No candidate has been elected after seven counts in Dublin’s European Elections.
The Green Party’s Ciarán Cuffe topped the poll on the first count, however his 63,849 votes fell nearly 9,000 short of the 72,790 quota needed to get over the line.
Fine Gael’s Frances Fitzgerald came in second on the first count with 59,067 votes.
She was followed by Fianna Fáil’s Barry Andrews on 51,420.
Independent TD Clare Daly came in on 42,305 – just ahead of Sinn Féin’s Lynn Boylan on 39,387.

Counting was suspended before a first count was reached in Ireland’s two other constituencies – Midlands North West and Ireland South.
The first announcements are expected in both constituencies by lunchtime tomorrow.
Dublin’s first announcement came just after 10pm as, under European rules, declarations are not allowed until the last voting booth closes on the continent.
Germany, France, Spain and Italy are among 21 countries where voters took to the polls today.
Voting was carried out days earlier in the other seven, including Ireland.
