Currys PC World has apologised after some some Irish customers were mistakenly asked to pay import duty.
The issue has been reported over the past week by a number of people who've ordered from the retailer's Irish site.
They had paid the Irish price and VAT as normal and were waiting for their products to arrive.
However, a few days later the customers received a notification from Currys PC World saying their product was coming from the UK and therefore they'd would have to pay import duty.
In a statement, the retailer said the issue was down to a technical error.
A spokesperson said: "A small number of our customers in the Republic of Ireland have mistakenly been asked to pay import duty on their orders.
"We are contacting all affected customers to refund them any costs they may have incurred. We apologise wholeheartedly for the inconvenience.”
It means anyone who has received a message or paid the fee will not be out of pocket.
While anyone ordering from the UK may now face extra fees and taxes, those new rules do not apply to items sold by retailers operating in Ireland.
