A cyclist in his 60s has been hospitalised following a collision between a car and a bike in Leitrim.
Gardaí said the crash happened shortly after 2pm yesterday, December 19th, on the R284 between Battlebridge and Leitrim Village.
The cyclist, a man in his 60s, has been taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin for serious injuries.
The road is currently closed for a forensic examination and traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí in Carrick-on-Shannon are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are particularly looking for road users who were in the area at the time and may have dash cam footage.
