A cyclist has been killed in a crash at Knocknagee, Co Kildare.
It happened at Knocknagee, Co Kildare, close to Carlow Town, at approximately 11.20am this morning.
The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to Naas General Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.
No other injuries were reported at the time.
The road is currently closed for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí in Kildare are appealing for witnesses of the crash to come forward.
They are particularly interested in anyone with dashcam footage who was in the area at the time.
This is the third road incident over the Easter weekend and the 58th dead on Irish roads in 2024.
