A man in his 40s has died following a single-vehicle crash in Co Cork yesterday.
The incident occurred at Meadstown in Kildorrery at around 6.20pm on Saturday evening.
The man, who was cycling on the road, received treatment at the scene following the incident but he was later pronounced dead.
His body was taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.
The scene remains closed this morning to allow for a technical examination.
Gardaí investigating the single-vehicle crash are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
They are asking for anyone with information on the collision to contact them, while motorists who may have video (including dashcam) footage are requested to make this available to them.
