A cyclist has been found dead in County Roscommon.
The discovery happened around 2am in the early hours of Sunday morning at Cloonchambers, Castlerea.
The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí say they are investigating “all of the circumstances” around the discovery.
The body was taken to Roscommon University Hospital, where a post-mortem exam will take place, which will determine the course of the investigation.
The road is currently closed to allow for a technical exam and diversions are in place.
Gardaí are asking for any witnesses of the crash to come forward, particularly those who were travelling through the area at the time and those who have dash-cam footage.
